Also, I have been asking myself existentially angsty questions recently, like WHY do I love to write? What difference does it make to me, to my family, to my children, to the world? Why did I just sit here for two hours on the porch, working happily, and feel like two minutes went by? There is part of me that feels affirmed by the Houselander quote you posted. There's another part of me that wants to deny that she is correct, though. It means there is a lot, personally, at stake in "finding time." It's a bit frightening. I've lived the frustration/ceasing energy bit a number of times, and I'm not there right now, but always afraid of plunging over the cliff again. Thanks for just... staking it out there. Highlighting the fact that it's real.
